Think! Education

Extension activities

  1. Children can identify and count different vehicles. If a nearby road or car park can be viewed safely, this can be done with real vehicles. Otherwise photos can be used.
  2. Buses and cars can be quite noisy and easy for most people to hear coming, but other traffic, such as bicycles, are very quiet. Play the sounds made by different vehicles, in the Early Years Pupil’s area, and get the children to identify them.
  3. Children can paint large pictures of different vehicles for a wall display or make a collage, cutting and sticking photos of road traffic onto a background (in addition to cars, include buses, vans, lorries and motorbikes, plus ‘vehicles that help us’: ambulances, fire engines and police cars).
